I am delighted to provide you with a list of local teachers for the Medicine for the Earth material. All of these people have trained with me to teach a weekend gathering, a five-day gathering or ongoing groups. The list includes over 50 names in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Central America. All of the teachers on the list can also teach you the basics of shamanic journeying.

MEDICINE FOR THE EARTH GATHERINGS
Five-Day Medicine for the Earth Gathering
The five-day training based on the information in Medicine for the Earth teaches how to transform personal and environmental pollution by learning how to transmute negative beliefs, attitudes, and energy which is generated by emotions.
The process continues with learning how to work in cooperation with helping spirits and the spirits of the land as well as getting in touch with our own internal divine nature to create healing and transmutation. Participants will also take part in a ceremony to transmute water that has been contaminated with ammonium hydroxide, which will illustrate how the principle of harmony within creates harmony without.
The training includes learning about working in cooperation with all the elements earth, water, air, fire. Other key elements and spiritual practices will also be explored which can be easily incorporated into daily life. These methods are necessary and helpful for transforming and transmuting environmental and personal toxins.
In addition to the ceremony working with polluted water, long distance work will also be done, there will be a ceremony with fire, and an additional ceremony designed to transmute planetary problems.
The great power of visioning will be explored and there will be a powerful ceremony with fire used to manifest visions. In addition to shamanic journeying, meditation, yoga, and chanting will be utilized to help change states of consciousness and raise awareness. The work done as a group in collaboration with community and the spirits is truly a life transforming experience.
Prerequisite: There are no workshops required for this training. Experience with shaman journeying is required. If you need to find out how to learn how to journey please contact the sponsor who will offer names of people who can train you.
Weekend Medicine for the Earth Gatherings
This is a shortened version of the five-day gathering. It will give you the core elements that are taught in the five-day along with the ceremony to transmute water. (I have no scheduled weekend workshops at this time, but local Medicine for the Earth teachers do. Please check with the teachers in your area.)

Medicine for the Earth Teacher Training
This is a training for people who would like to teach Medicine for the Earth Gatherings. I will share with the group formats for on-going groups, weekend gatherings, and five-day gatherings. I will also teach how to present the group to non-journeyers as well as people trained in shamanic journeying. I will share what I have learned over the past 20 years of teaching regarding teaching style and group dynamics.
The prerequisite for this training is either a weekend or five-day Medicine for the Earth Gathering taught by me.

I have cancelled my appearance at this conference. The Foundation for Shamanic Studies is a co-sponsor of this conference. Michael Harner informed the conference organizer that he will withdraw the Foundation for Shamanic Studies co-sponsorship if I present my "new work" there. It is interesting to note I received this information after I had written much of my Dec. 2002 Transmutation News which I hope you have or will read.

RECONNECTING WITH NATURE: A SHAMANIC APPROACH
February 1-8
in Villas Sueno Azul, Costa Rica
For many, the word “shaman” calls to mind a traditional healer steeped in secret knowledge and mysterious powers. In this workshop, though, we learn the tools of the shaman and begin to see the natural world as the shaman does. With the aid of a drum, we experience the shamanic journey; a method for entering into a universe usually only glimpsed in myths and dreams. In the amazing beauty of the Costa Rican rainforest, we use the sharnanic journey to realign ourselves with the forces and cycles of nature and come to understand how these connections can bring harmony and health into our lives.
This course does not apply as the prerequisite for FSS advanced trainings. We will work with the shamanic journey, performing ceremonies and also enjoying and exploring the beauty of Costa Rica.
In case you are more interested in learning a meditative practice, my husband Woods Shoemaker will be teaching his own course on vipassana meditation and yoga concurrent to mine.

ADVANCED HEALING
As the causes of illness today are different than ancient times, our healing methods must be updated to deal with modern day illness. So much of the illnesses we see today such as the epidemic rate of cancer and the increase in immune deficiency problems are a direct result of the chemical pollution in our environment.
The focus of this training will be on learning new methods of healing that can be integrated into your shamanic healing practice. We will explore the use of transfiguration (shapeshifting into your own divinity) as well as methods of merging with helping spirits to go beyond traditional healing methods and open us to the power of the universe that knows how to heal and transmute illness.

THE WAY OF THE SHAMAN
This is a beginning workshop on shamanic journeying which I teach for the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. During this experiential workshop, participants are introduced to core shamanism, the nearly universal methods used by the shaman to enter nonordinary reality for problem solving and healing. Particular emphasis is on the classic shamanic journey, one of the most remarkable visionary methods utilized to explore hidden universes otherwise known primarily through myth and dream. Participants are initiated into shamanic journeying, aided by drumming and other techniques for experiencing the shamanic state of consciousness and for awakening dormant spiritual abilities, including connections with Nature.
Practice includes comparisons by participants of their discoveries in shamanic journeys as well as being introduced to shamanic divination and healing. They are also provided with methods for journeying to discover and study with their own individual spiritual teachers in nonordinary reality, a classic step in shamanic practice. Participants learn how the journey is utilized to help restore spiritual power and health, and how shamanism can be applied in contemporary daily life to help heal one-self, others, and the Planet.
This training is the prerequisite for all advanced workshops and training courses offered by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.

FIVE-DAY SOUL RETRIEVAL TRAINING
This training is residential and is based on Sandra Ingerman’s books Soul Retrieval: Mending the Fragmented Self and Welcome Home: Following Your Soul’s Journey Home
The five-day workshop is designed exclusively for those who wish to bring shamanic healing techniques into their practice with others, not for personal healing. Participants will be trained to work with the issue of soul loss, will explore the experience of partial soul loss resulting from personal trauma and illness, and will learn how to track a person’s soul and return lost essence to that individual. The course also focuses on life after soul retrieval—how to create a healthier life after healing has taken place. Individuals attending the training will perform and receive a soul retrieval during the course of the week, and are given extensive instruction on how to work with clients after a soul retrieval through the use of shamanic journeying, ritual, and ceremony.
Success at shamanic journeying and good contact with power animals and/or teachers in non-ordinary reality is essential for participation. Please do not enroll if you are not confident with your journeying skills. “The Way of the Shaman” weekend workshop with an FSS faculty member is a prerequisite for this training.
