HOW TO HEAL TOXIC THOUGHTS January 19, 2008 NEW WORKSHOP:REJUVENATION AND FINDING INNER STABILITY DURING THESE CHANGING TIMES February 21-25 2008 During these changing times it can be difficult to not lose ourselves and get distracted by events in our lives and in the world. Sandra Ingerman, Woods Shoemaker, and Dr. Erica Elliott will join their expertise together to teach how to stay centered, remember who you are, and take care of yourself on all levels – body, mind, and spirit. Sandra will teach her new work of journeying into inner worlds to work on our inner landscape and dismember limiting thought forms. She will lead us in exploring how working with a craft of choice can be an active form of meditation as well as a way to stay focused. Sandra will lead evening healing ceremonies fueled by the power of community. Woods will teach known breathing practices which promote clarity of the mind, a sense of peace and calm, and physical health and well-being. He will teach a meditation practice you can add to your shamanic and daily spiritual practices. Light yoga will be used to support the meditation practices. The process continues with learning how to work in cooperation with helping spirits and the spirits of the land as well as getting in touch with our own internal divine nature to create healing and transmutation. The training includes learning about working in cooperation with all the elements earth, water, air, fire. Other key elements and spiritual practices will also be explored which can be easily incorporated into daily life. These methods are necessary and helpful for transforming and transmuting environmental and personal toxins. With spiritual practices and learning how to shift our consciousness we can add to all the brilliant environmental work going on today. But we must learn the power of integrating spiritual work into our daily lives. And this is the major theme of this training. Participants will also take part ceremonies to transmute water and other substances as well as to transmute planetary problems. There will be a fire ceremony to help us manifest our visions. The ceremonial work done as a group in collaboration with community and the spirits is truly a life transforming experience. Because the etiology of illness today is different from ancient times, our healing methods must be updated to deal with modern-day illness such as cancer and immune deficiency problems caused by environmental pollution. Sandra will teach new methods of healing based on the Medicine for the Earth work that can be integrated into a shamanic healing practice. Practitioners from around the world working in this way are sharing extraordinary results from this work. May 1-4, 2008 September 10-14, 2008 MEDICINE FOR THE EARTH REUNION This reunion is only open to those who have been part of a Medicine for the Earth Gathering. Exercises are presented by participants who have been teaching and working with the Medicine for the Earth material. March 5-9 2008 THE SPIRITUAL PRACTICE OF SPINNING November 6-9 2008 In this workshop you will learn how to spin with both a spinning wheel and a drop spindle. We will look at how you can use spinning as part of your spiritual practice to receive guidance and visions, for meditation, and how we can use what we spin for the healing of others. We have taught this workshop a few times and it has become very popular so please enroll early. The group will be limited to 20 people and we will supply all the supplies needed for the workshop. THE WAY OF THE SHAMAN This is a beginning workshop on shamanic journeying which I teach for the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. During this experiential workshop, participants are introduced to core shamanism, the nearly universal methods used by the shaman to enter nonordinary reality for problem solving and healing. Particular emphasis is on the classic shamanic journey, one of the most remarkable visionary methods utilized to explore hidden universes otherwise known primarily through myth and dream. Participants are initiated into shamanic journeying, aided by drumming and other techniques for experiencing the shamanic state of consciousness and for awakening dormant spiritual abilities, including connections with Nature. Practice includes comparisons by participants of their discoveries in shamanic journeys as well as being introduced to shamanic divination and healing. They are also provided with methods for journeying to discover and study with their own individual spiritual teachers in nonordinary reality, a classic step in shamanic practice. Participants learn how the journey is utilized to help restore spiritual power and health, and how shamanism can be applied in contemporary daily life to help heal one-self, others, and the Planet. This training is the prerequisite for all advanced workshops and training courses offered by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. March 29-30 2008 FIVE-DAY SOUL RETRIEVAL TRAINING This training is residential and is based on Sandra Ingerman’s books Soul Retrieval: Mending the Fragmented Self and Welcome Home: Following Your Soul’s Journey Home and the CD program “The Soul Retrieval Journey” produced by Sounds True. The five-day workshop is designed exclusively for those who wish to bring shamanic healing techniques into their practice with others, not for personal healing. Participants will be trained to work with the issue of soul loss, explore the experience of partial soul loss resulting from personal trauma and illness, and will learn how to track a person’s soul and return lost essence to that individual. Particular emphasis will be placed on integrating this potent healing process in a modern day culture. Training will be given on developing communication skills that help the practitioner tell healing stories to their clients based on the spiritual information received in their journeys. The course also focuses on life after soul retrieval… how to create a healthier life after healing has taken place. Individuals attending the training will perform and receive a soul retrieval during the course of the week, and are given extensive instruction on how to work with clients after a soul retrieval through the use of shamanic journeying, ritual, and ceremony. This work results in creating long term healing. Success at shamanic journeying and good contact with power animals and/or teachers in non-ordinary reality is essential for participation.
